Political instability, Unemployment, Child labor, and Poverty are social issues in Pakistani society. Analyze any one of the above-mentioned social issues in the light of all three perspectives.

Solution:

I will analyze the social issue of poverty in Pakistani society from these three perspectives:

Structural Perspective:

  1. Economic policies and systemic inequalities contribute to the persistence of poverty in Pakistan. Issues such as unequal distribution of wealth, lack of access to basic resources and services, and limited employment opportunities exacerbate poverty.
  2. Corruption and mismanagement in government institutions hinder effective poverty alleviation programs. Funds intended for poverty reduction often get misappropriated, leading to limited impact and perpetuation of poverty.
  3. Limited social safety nets and inadequate public infrastructure further marginalize the poor, making it difficult for them to escape the cycle of poverty.

Cultural Perspective:

  1. Social norms and traditions in Pakistani society can perpetuate poverty. Gender inequality and patriarchal norms restrict women's access to education and employment, limiting their potential to contribute to household income and escape poverty.
  2. The stigma associated with certain occupations and caste-based discrimination can also limit opportunities for upward mobility, keeping individuals and communities trapped in poverty.
  3. Cultural practices that prioritize large families and discourage family planning can exacerbate poverty by placing a greater strain on limited resources and hindering investments in education and healthcare.

Individual Perspective:

  1. Lack of skills and education among individuals can contribute to their vulnerability to poverty. Limited access to quality education and vocational training opportunities restricts their ability to secure well-paying jobs.
  2. Health issues and disabilities can further hinder individuals' capacity to earn a living and break free from poverty.
  3. Limited social mobility and the absence of equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their background or socioeconomic status can perpetuate poverty, as individuals struggle to improve their circumstances through their own efforts.
